Operating Systems and Options

 Operating Systems

Every system is built to order and can be tailored to meet nearly any functional or site-specific requirements

  Control System

Built around a state-of-the-art digital control from Gecko Alliance, a leader in spa technology.

    • Programs, monitors, and actuates all tub functions.
    • Features Smart Winter Mode:
    • Activates automatically below 60°F.
    • Increases water sampling frequency as temperatures drop.
    • Helps prevent freezing in plumbing—even in economy mode—so long as power remains connected.

 Heating Options

  Compatible with various heat sources:

    • Electric spa heater
    • Propane or natural gas heater
    • Boiler system (via a heat exchanger)

  Standard System Components

    • Gecko digital control
    • Properly sized two-speed pump for heating, filtration, and jets
    • Your choice of heat source (see above)
    • Your choice of sanitation system:
              -Clear Blue silver ionizer
              -EcoSmarte non-chemical system
    • Cartridge filter
    • Two isolation valves
    • Optional blower (included if tub has a champagne ring)

 Free-Standing Tubs

For Free-Standing tub models, all plumbing is completed in-house—no extra plumbing needed on-site:

    • Components are pre-piped and pre-wired in the correct sequence
    • Mounted on a PVC equipment pad for convenience

Gas Heater or Heat Exchange Use

    • Mounted adjacent to the equipment pad
    • Plumbed into the pressure side of the system during installation
    • Reference circuit drawings for layout options

Feature

ClearBlue Mineral System

ECOsmarte® Oxygen‑Copper System

Sanitizing Action Mineral ions (silver + copper + zinc) released by a digital controller. Active oxygen (oxidizer) plus ionic copper residual.
Water Feel & Smell Soft on skin, hair, and swimwear; no strong chemical odor. “Bottled‑water” quality; water feels like lotion with no bromine/chemical smell.
Maintenance Electrodes should be cleaned every 6 months. Simple weekly test & minor pH tweaks; stable residual keeps water clear. Filter change monthly.
Power & Placement 110 V or 220 V; plumbs in‑line with existing filtration—nothing floating in the tub. 110 V or 220 V; plumbs in‑line with existing filtration—nothing floating in the tub.
Cell / Consumables Life Original mineral cell typically lasts 24 months before replacement. Copper/oxygen electrodes require only periodic cleaning; long service life.
Ideal User Prefers a low-maintenance, digitally controlled mineral system with consistent dosing and long cell life. Wants a natural, chemical-free soak with simple weekly care.

 Other System Components and Options

Spa side

The spa side key pad is typically mounted on the control console at the rear of the tub and is the device used to communicate with the control. It can be configured to command either one or two pumps, the light, and the temperature settings. It is also used to program control functions and modes. It can be equipped with an attachment cord up to 25’ in length that must be plugged into the control.

Extension Module

If the installation design dictates that the equipment placement is beyond the 25’ maximum cord length of the spa side keypad, then the signal from the spa side must be amplified to maintain signal integrity and accurate readings. This is accomplished with an extension module which consists of two parts (an amplifier and a receiver) that are connected to each other with a Cat-5 cable that can be up to 70’ long. The spa side cable end plugs into the signal amplifier, and the receiver plugs into the control board inside the Gecko control in the spa side port.

In-Grid / Interface

The interface is used when it is desired to use a remote heat source for a tub, such as a gas heater or a heat exchanger off a boiler. It can also be used to command a dual heat source when an electric heater is present with another source. The interface can be set up to utilize either source individually or both simultaneously if desired.

WIFI Interface

The control can be equipped with a WIFI interface that will allow an owner or a caretaker to monitor, program, and actuate the functions that are commanded by the Gecko control with a smartphone from anywhere via an Internet connection.

In-Temp Heat Pump

Gecko offers an integrated air/water heat pump system that will pair with their “Y”Series controls, which can be used to heat or cool the water in your tub as desired. The design temperature range for heating and cooling is 46 – 104 degrees Fahrenheit. This capability offers increased heating efficiency during much of the year in the Northern Latitudes, and the cooling capability is a welcome feature in many areas in the South.
